Got home from the beach party about 630am, ha! They party so late here... Great time!!
We want bck to Sean's flat and some drinks with one of his roommates, Gerard after work. He was cool too, he is going to America in two weeks for the first time. He said the first thing he wanted to do was go eat an American hamburger, lol! I assured him that they were everywhere and told him to go to Fuddruckers & Checkers for sure since he will be going to Florida.
They also laughed at how big our cars are. They call Caddilac Escalade and all of the SUV "street ships! Your American cars are so big man..." Yeah, the cars are funny lookin over here, all tiny hatchback coupes or smart cars. And about a million scooters.
We went to the beach around 1:30am and like I said, looked up and it was 530, ha! DJ playin on the coast, free party every Thurs.-Sun! Til either 3 or 6am. Cool by me, just not used to partyin til sunrise. Took awhile to find a taxi, but being with two locals helped a lot! Great night, talked a lot about USA and Spain. Cool guys to take me out like that...
So after some sleep, woke and met up with Sean again. He offered to take me to Parc Guell designed by Guadi. Awesome park all designed by this famous artist, Salvador Guadi. We walked a lot today!!!! Saw really cool stone architecture, gardens, so many different paths to take. Pretty sure Blake told me to come here, def worth it.
Called it a day, and grabbed some dinner on the way back to my place. Another decent paella, but basically you have to go outside the city to get the real dish. I've always been told the bottom of the pan should be caramelized and there should be a crust. This stuff in town is just basically heated up and thrown in the fancy pan. The seafood in it is delicious but the rice is weak. Good bread though, I will master this when I get back.
Headin to the Ritz tomorrow to say my thank you/goodbye's to the chef and everyone.
Just a few pics of Parc Guell
