July 6th

The rents are coming today, only workin a half day today. Yes Fearings crew, half days here!!!

Another great shift. Chef Daniele came in early and made me fresh pasta with veal and poached cod in olive oil for lunch today!!!! Wow, best pasta I've ever had... Im the only one that eats the skin, they kinda look at me funny, but why would you serve it skin on and not eat it!!!! And the tomatoes here are so good, we just eat them raw. He also made me fresh focaccia bread! He told me, "we don't eat like this everyday, but it is for you!". So cool... The owner and waitress were also very happy. Kinda slow today, so we cleaned all coolers and sat and talked for awhile. I showed them pics of hunting and the farm. They want to come to Texas now, Hahahahah! They also wrapped me up some fluer de sel (the best salt) so I could take home with me. Also some Verviene tea. Verviene is an herb we used today for a sorbet. It smells like lime & lemon, never heard of it, but I wish we could get back home. And some condoms! I think that was a joke....

They invited me to come in for dinner tonight with the fam, so I'm excited for everyone to try the food. I'm going to work one more shift tomorrow evening with the chef, Gary has a wedding to go to. This will be my last shift, but am glad I was here at the right time to help out. And also, the fact that they appreciate my help enough to want me back! Kinda sad to leave actually... I am excited about Spain, but this has been an absolutely amazing week in the kitchen with them. If things don't go well in Spain, I will be back!
